Weight: 300-400 grams
Distrubution: around the North Atlantic
Habits: a sociable sea-bird, coming on land only to breed.
Breeding Habitat: grass-covered hillsides, and other steep areas overlooking the sea.
Breading Season: The early part of June.
Incubation Period: app. 5 weeks
Eggs: One
Young: Nest-bound, until the day they take their leave of both parents and burrow.


The Puffin has such a special appearance that he always receives attention. It is not just his red-striped beak, but his dignified and "respectable" pose.
